BOB YOUNG FUND
As a true community web site, we fully intend to give something back to the community which we support. We are committed to giving 10% of our year end net profit to a local charity. Net Profit for this purpose will be deemed to be total income, minus tax and all expenses in running the site.
We will also be looking for donations to top up this fund throughout the year from our advertisers, supporters and visitors using the PayPal facility.
WHO WAS BOB YOUNG?
Bob Young was my dad. He was someone who lived his life with the firm belief that it was better to give then to receive and gave much to his community. Sadly, he passed away on 12 March 2008 and this fund is set up in his memory. The principle is that which my dad lived his life by - we will give back to the community and help fund projects local to the Blackwater Valley
We will give our visitors the chance to decide where the money raised goes, and this will be donated to the winning cause on 12 March each year - the anniversary of Bob Young’s death.
Please use the Suggestions board at the forums for your nominations for a charity to benefit from this scheme, outlining why you think that charity above all others should benefit. Our members will then be allowed to vote for their favourite and the winning charity will then get a full feature page on the site with regular news and updates posted. The only stipulations are that it must be a registered charity, that it is based in the Blackwater Valley (Hampshire / Surrey / Berkshire) and must benefit the people of the Blackwater Valley.
